We really enjoyed staying at Arife Sultan Hotel. The owner, Yusuf, and the personnel are very hospitable, funny and helpful, the rooms are nice and tidy, the hotel is within 5 minutes walking distance of the Blue Mosque and Aya Sofya. Last, but not least, you can have your breakfast on the rooftop terrace with a wonderful view of Sultanahmet and the Bosphorus. All in all, a very good experience!

The location is great! It's in the old town at the 5 minutes walk from Hagia Sophia and Sultanahmet (Blue Mosque). Tram station (Sultanahmet) of T1 line just two minutes walk, so you can use it when you go to/from airport (you have to change line only one to M1). There is a roof terace entrance on the 4-th floor but sadly it's not in use for breakfast or whatever, however it opens a great view on Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia. The room was not so big but convenient and has enough space for two of us with medium sized suitcases. Might be a problem when your luggage is big. Room was clean and it seems that newly renovated and furnished. Despite the street is small, it full of restaurants, cafes and bars, but it was not a problem in the nights as we were on 4-th floor and most of cafes are closed after 11-12. BTW, you might be woken by roosters in the morning! Staff is very friendly and gave a good service.
The breakfast is very modest and served right in the front desk, so we consider it incomfortable and desided to have it outside. Fortunately, lots of eateries at that district and you would have only one problem - with your choice

Everything was perfect from the staff to the room, exceptionally comfortable bed and relaxing room. The hotel was located right in the heart of Istanbul. Plus, we were really close to Istanbul city centre. The breakfast was great, a lot of savoury food.
